I'm James Mellor.
I'm a documentary and drama director based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, working across the UK and internationally. My documentary Rugby Town has been selected at fourteen festivals worldwide, with wins in Slovenia, New York and Milan. Karate Dreams continues its own festival run, and my six-part series The Inflight Food Trip has been seen in 116 countries.
I direct first, produce second, and bring a collaborative, unhurried approach to every project, whether that's a feature documentary, a scripted drama, or branded storytelling for a national broadcaster.

James leads a brilliant team and the quality of their creative output is phenomenal. From ideas, production and delivery, they shine.
A versatile and talented professional with a tremendous work ethic, frequently going the extra mile to get the job done.
He really gets TV, he doesn't just talk it.
Consistently reliable, and produced some really great films for us. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
